Planning for the future and feeding my brain...

So today I'm surfing schools again... mainly, right now, online programs offered through UMass Online.

So far I've found a few that I'd likely find interesting and somewhat useful to my current career line or, at least, where I'm looking to go once I get to DC.

There's this Critical and Creative Thinking Certificate which I could probably get away with charging the company for since it's enhancing my person and my ability to make bigger, better decisions (think... management!) and Don/Amar would likely approve something like that.

Then there's this one which is muy interesante to me: The Certificate Program in Security Management and Homeland Security Which would allow me to learn about things that are hot in this country right now PLUS give me the psychology edge that I've been thinking about by my choosing to take these electives: Criminal Profiling & Forensic Psychology. Now see.. THAT sounds fun!

I could do a bachelors of liberal arts in psychology but I defintately couldn't get work to pay for that... why would a DBA need to have a degree in psychology? (Little do they know we all should have them down here so that we can handle the yahoos they have working for them upstairs!)

Looked at some undergrad programs as BSC... a philosophy degree from there would probably be interesting given their teaching styles and such but the psychology one looks like a ton of work there. Which probably means it's a good program but it's definatley not something I could finish in the finite amount of time I may have here.

I'm thinking that Critical and Creative Thinking Certificate may be the coolest.

Now I have to think about it more and see if I have the free-time commitment necessary to support such a class. I'm willing to bet it's a lot of reading since it's an online class. I wouldn't want to "pull a Daddy" and save my online course until a week before the end of the semester but I can easily see how I might do that if I'm not paying attention to my deadlines. Also, umass online is an ONLINE course set so... if we move earlier than later, a ha!, I can just do it from where ever we land. Marvelous thing this internet! ;)

I may ask for more info on that set of courses (the CCT ones) like cost and such... always a good thing to have in your pocket when you go thinking about registering for something.

If I were to do that, then you could all suffer through my practicing here ;) muhaha...

Well, off to do something since LJ is dead, the news isn't so exciting, and work is just aggrivating and somewhat boring (at least until a meeting I have at 1PM).
